Tribute Gifts: Your gift to Matrix is a wonderful way to honor a friend, relative or colleague. The individual you’re honoring will receive a personal note from Matrix, and you’ll feel the joy of recognizing someone special in your life (and get a tax deduction!) So, whether it’s for a birthday, anniversary, mastery of a new skill, a graduation, a promotion at work, transition to independent living, a speedy recovery, or any other occasion that deserves recognition -- consider doubling the impact through a donation to Matrix!

Matrix is also honored to receive memorial donations. Through such donations, you help to create a living legacy, keeping memories alive through service to others.

Gifts of Cash: Checks, cash and credit cards are the most common form of donation that we receive and we are so grateful for all of our generous donors -- Thank You! Donating stocks to Matrix. Do you want to rid your portfolio of old stock without paying capital gains taxes on them? Give them to Matrix. In order to qualify for a tax deduction, the donor has to give or transfer the stock directly to Matrix. If the stock is sold first and the proceeds are given to Matrix, the donor will incur capital gains tax on the appreciation of the stock . Estate Gifts. Please consider including Matrix in your will or testamentary trust. Once your needs are met and your family is taken care of, you can continue to take care of families of children with disabilities by supporting Matrix through your estate. If you have included Matrix as a beneficiary of a trust, life insurance, or your will, please let us know. We would like to have the opportunity to say thank you and to plan for the future. eScrip. Did you know you can support up to three organizations through eScrip? Sign up or add Matrix Parent Network today by visiting www.escrip.com Matrix' Group ID number: 3648160. eScrip is an organization which has enlisted many merchants to make donations to schools and other non-profit organizations which support children. Matrix is one of these organizations. When you sign up for eScrip, every time you use the credit card, debit card, Safeway card, other grocery club cards, etc. which you register, a percentage of your purchase is automatically donated by the merchant to Matrix, if you so choose. Your shopping bill is exactly the same. The money comes from the generosity of the merchants. There is no registration cost. You also can shop directly through the eScrip online mall -- this is an easy and secure way to help Matrix -- follow the link below.

Recycle for Matrix!
Instead of putting your plastic/glass bottles and aluminum cans marked CA deposit in your big blue recycling bin, bring them to our office during the workday on Fridays -- we'll recycle them for you and the money will fund Matrix programs. It's an easy, earth-friendly way to support families in your community. Coming to the Matrix office on another day? Please e-mail or call Brenda at 415-475-2118 or brendagm@matrixparents.org to make arrangements to bring them in when you’re coming so you don't have to make a separate trip. We appreciate your efforts!.

We also recycle computer ink and toner cartridges, cell phones, and lap tops, so feel free to drop these off at your convenience. Your “waste” can be transformed into our programs!

Matching Gifts: Have you asked if your workplace will match your gifts? Through a Matching Gift Program, your company sends a check to Matrix in the same amount as the gift that you make – matching your gift! This is a wonderful way to have your donation to Matrix doubled by your employer! Many employers do this as a part of their annual philanthropy – they allow their employees to direct a good part of the company’s donations.

What are Workplace Campaigns? This is when your employer arranges for on-going or one time donations to be deducted from your pay check according to your directions. Find out if your employer is a member of United Way or Local Independent Charities of America. Matrix Parent Network is on the list of charities with both of these organizations.

Library Donations
Donating your books is a wonderful way to support our libraries. Donations of current parenting and/or special needs related books, DVDs, or magazines are always appreciated as they help us build a valuable resource for parents in the North Bay.
