The Marin County SELPA and Marin County Office of Education are excited to announce that we will be showcasing the inspiring, award-winning feature length documentary, Swim Team, at the Marin County Office of Education.

 Producer and Director, Lara Stolman, chronicles the unique lives of three high school swimmers with autism, and their families, as they navigate the day to day challenges of living with a disability, and competitive world of swimming.  The film highlights the swimmer’s accomplishments, frustrations, and triumphs. It provides hope and inspiration to all.

This event is FREE, family friendly, recommended for children 11 and older. Snacks and beverages will be provided.

The Power of Neurodiversity in School and at Work

With Dr. Lawrence Fung, M.D., Ph.D.

Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences,

Stanford University

Neurodiversity is about accepting variations in brain functions and behaviors in mankind. Uncovering the strengths of neurodiverse individuals empowers them to increase innovation and productivity, resulting in favorable outcomes not only for them but for the entire community. Dr. Fung will describe strength-based approaches in developing neurodiverse individuals in learning and work environments

This lecture will be accompanied by a panel of representatives from organizations that hire people on the autism spectrum, agencies that help people on the autism spectrum find employment, and educational advocates for students on the spectrum.

Emotional Resolution:
Put an End to Anxiety and Recurrent Fears

Parenting is challenging. Stress and frustration compound the hassle of hectic daily routines. The latest neuroscientific studies illustrate our brain's inherent ability to permanently clear disruptive emotional patterns. This workshop can help you:

  • Lift the impact of past trauma
  • Resolve negative emotional patterns, such as depression, worry or jealousy
  • Reduce stress
  • Reduce physical symptoms of chronic ailments

This takes place during our regularly scheduled Playtime (for children 7 and under). Extra staff will be on-hand to supervise your child at Playtime.
