ABLEDATA is a national database containing descriptive and source information on assistive devices for people with disabilities. Here is information about how to access it.

Alliance for Technology Access offers information for children and adults with disabilities who want to use assistive technology to enhance their lives.

AT Network Assistive technology . . .Tools for Living

The Boulevard An Assistive Technology Expo, providing valuable information about quality products and services available to individuals with disabilities and healthcare professionals.

Center for Accessible Technology, in Berkeley provides information about the services of the C for AT, as well as information about assistive technology, including substantial information about voice recognition, access to science at school, and access to the web.

Family Center on Technology and Disability

Family Guide to Assistive Technology PLUK (Parents, Let's Unite for Kids) has published it's book on accessing assistive technology at this site.

Fast Forward provides information about the new program called Fast Forward, which "teaches language learning impaired children to process speech more effectively, building skills they need to comprehend and use language more effectively."

Kester Braille fills the need for non-visual materials to teach specific skills to beginning readers in the same sequence these skills are taught to their sighted companions.

Recordings for the Blind & Dyslexic:
RFB&D is currently implementing a grant that provides FREE one-year individual memberships for their recorded books and textbooks to students with learning and print disabilities in nine Bay Area counties.  Now is the time to take advantage of these free subscriptions. With a subscription students can download a book or parts of a book directly to their computer. They can also sync the audio files with compatible portable media players-- including textbooks.
