Ensure the future of In Home Supportive Services (IHSS)
Our partners at Parents Helping Parents have launched two ways you can join the effort to ensure the future of In Home Supportive Services.
In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) is a critical program that allows older adults and people with disabilities to live safely in their homes and communities, rather than being forced into institutional care.
Right now, California is considering proposals that would weaken IHSS by eliminating key protections and shifting costs in ways that could reduce access to care. Due to the passage of HR 1, the state is seeking ways to cut costs to offset lost federal funding—putting IHSS and the people who rely on it at risk.
