The Marin County SELPA Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) has organized a series of parent workshops.

The workshops are presented by Carl Corbin, General Counsel for School and College Legal Services, that focus on legal topics related to special education. Click here for an event flyer with more information about each workshop.

  • Procedural Safeguards and Parent Rights
    Attendees will learn more about their child’s rights and the protections in place under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

  • Special Education Eligibility & the Continuum of Services and Placements
    Attendees will learn about special education eligibility determination and the factors considered in determining appropriate services and placement under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

  • Special Education: Questions and Answers
    Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions in advance, upon registration, related to special education (identification, evaluation, provision of special education services, and educational placement) and the presenter will address those questions and provide answers in the workshop.
