News from the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities.
Governor Newsom must sign a budget by June 30th. That means we have two weeks left to advocate for a budget deal that protects Medi-Cal and In Home Supportive Services for another year.
The Legislature has proposed a budget that rejects all cuts to IHSS, doesn’t reinstate the asset test back to $2,000 level and protects Medi-Cal access for immigrants for another year. This is what we have fought for since the beginning of the year. Now it is time for the Governor to accept this proposal, and we need you to tell him to do so.

We must also show our legislative leaders that the budget proposal they put forth is one we support. Ask them to stay strong in their negotiations with the Governor to protect IHSS and Medi-Cal access in the final state budget deal.
