Do you have questions about Special Education and IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)? SCDD (State Council on Developmental Disabilities) is here to help!
As the new school year begins, join us for our Statewide Weekly Advocacy Clinic—a welcoming space to ask questions about special education and learn effective strategies to navigate the system and ensure your child receives the services and supports they need.
Topics will include:
- Special education eligibility
- Strategies for an effective IEP meeting
- Understanding evaluations
- Concept of Least Restrictive Environment (LRE)
- Writing SMART IEP goals
- Inclusion
- Parent reports
- Importance of putting things in writing
- Due process and complaints
MONDAYS — 10:00 am to 11:30 am on Zoom.
Each session will be available in English and Spanish!
